Danis supports pig farmers with a range of services, such as veterinary advice, stable management, manure processing and manure disposal and environmental permits. This approach allows Danis to meet the specific needs of each individual company and each market.

Veterinarians at Danis

We are not aiming for quantity, but for the quality in pig farming. Healthy animals are our priority and we therefore attach great importance to animal welfare.

That is why we work closely with the DAP Vedanko veterinary association. This team of specialised veterinarians does its best to guide the pig farmers as effectively as possible. They give advice on custom genetics, health, biosecurity, animal-specific nutrition, disease prevention, and so on.

In collaboration with Danis, Vedanko has been focusing on reducing antibiotic use in pig breeding for years. This goal is achieved by emphasising prevention, which involves, among other things, a thorough vaccination policy, monitoring, and health protocols. Danis also invests in trucks whose heating system raises the compartment temperature to over 70°C, making it completely germ-free and dry for piglet transport. We managed to reduce the use of antibiotics by 70% over the last five years thanks to these measures.

Vedanko also helps pig farmers to work out health programmes tailored to their company, as it is possible to improve productivity through good health and efficient management.

Training courses

Danis set up its own Danis Academy in order to closely monitor trends and developments in pig farming. Together with Vedanko, Danis organises numerous training courses for its employees. We also work together with Thomas More Hogeschool for animal welfare training. This ensures that our employees are always aware of the latest regulations and insights in the fields of animal welfare, hygiene and veterinary medicine.

Manure processing and disposal at Danis

We support the pig farmers in their search for environmentally and economically viable ways to dispose or process manure surpluses. For customers in areas with manure surpluses, we strike deals with arable farmers and contract workers in the areas with manure shortages. This ensures the manure can be used in a low-emission way as a useful raw material.

We also offer our own companies and our customers administrative support and advice on manure processing.

Stable management at Danis

We are experts in pig housing. Our own specialised team of electricians and technicians builds and maintains the stables of our own companies and our customers’ facilities. We offer the latest types of stables, powered by green energy from solar panels and natural ventilation systems. Our team is immediately on site whenever troubleshooting or repairs are necessary.
